DO YOU SEE WHAT NOAH SEEES?
Personal Student Government Campaign | Morehouse College
A vision that was months in the making truly changed the landscape of campaigning in the Atlanta University Center. What began as a quirky slogan and simple colors in my head transformed into a movement for the ages. Eccentric fonts, high contrast, and intimate photography sparked the momentum that made a name for myself and resulted in winning Freshman of the Year.
The calling card of the campaign, and biggest sign of its lasting impact, was making it personal to everyone on campus. This was done through personalized story graphics with each individual's name on them. It began with students in positions of prominence, and quickly became a movement. As more and more people asked, "How can I get one?", the traction of the campaign grew as well.
By the spring election season, every noteworthy candidate had graphics with voter's names and their respective slogans. That trend started with this campaign.
WHY IS SEEES MISPELLED?
The three Es in the word 'seees' are symbolic of the campaign's platform: Empowerment, Engagement, and Entertainment. Using the atomic marker font and the subtractive primary colors, I created a powerful visual just a couple of simple phrases. Below are some of the more popular graphics from the month long campaign.
THE ART OF PAIRED GRAPHICS
Many of the posts throughout the season came in two slide packages. The first slide, featuring the fantastic photography by Isaiah Turman, highlights each pillar in its font and color and prompts the viewer to continue to the next slide. On the second slide, an expanded plan is showcased with a signal phrase and the tangible goals of that pillar.
